Union Halls to Reopen April 26; District Meetings Remain Postponed

Brothers and Sisters,

We remain focused on the safety of our membership during the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance with state and federal mandates regarding large gatherings, we are continuing to evaluate our operations with safety and service to our membership at the forefront of our considerations.

  • Effective 4/26 at 8:00 a.m., our District Halls will reopen to members and visitors. Members will be able to access the halls to pay dues, purchase merchandise, or meet with business agents. All members will be required to wear masks in the halls and adhere to social distancing requirements.
  • Monthly District union meetings will be postponed indefinitely. The International Union has issued guidance to postpone all meetings in accordance with state and federal mandates on large gatherings. We will provide additional information on the resumption of District meetings as it becomes available.
  • Continued Closure of Fund Office: The Fund Office will remain closed to outside visitors. The only exception is for retiring members who want to schedule an in person meeting with a Retirement Services Group Representative and need assistance completing the retirement application packet. However, the Fund Office will not accept walk-in appointments. You must schedule an appointment. Please contact the Retirement Services Group at (708) 579-6630 to schedule an in-person meeting. You can also schedule a phone consultation to seek assistance with completing your retirement application packet. If you have any other questions regarding your fringe benefits, call Member Services at (708) 579-6600. Please check for updates regarding services.
  • Operators’ Health Centers Open: Both OHCs have reopened and allow on-site, in-person access by appointment only. In some cases, the OHC will still offer a virtual visit to reduce possible transmission of COVID-19.

Please continue to protect yourself from the spread of COVID-19. Please consult the CDC website for information on symptoms and ways to stay healthy.

In Solidarity,

James M. Sweeney
