June IDOT Project Lettings

On June 15th, the Illinois Department of Transportation performed its fourth letting of the year, which included large road and bridge projects throughout Local 150’s jurisdiction within Illinois.

Some of the larger projects let include:

  • $45.8 million– Pavement widening, reconstruction and resurfacing, storm sewers, ADA sidewalks, curb and gutter, box culvert construction, pedestrian underpass and path, retaining walls, traffic signal installation and modernization, lighting, and pavement markings on FAP 336 (Randall Road) from Harnish Drive to north of Polaris Drive/Alcorn Lane and on Algonquin Road from Harvest Gate/Talaga Drive easterly to east of Crystal Lake Avenue in the villages of Lake in the Hills and Algonquin in McHenry County.
    • Awarded to Plote Construction
  • $40.9 million– 6.01 miles of rubblization, pavement reconstruction and structure repairs on I-55 from 1.7 miles south of IL 116 to 0.6 mile north of IL 23 at Pontiac in Livingston County.
    • Awarded to Kankakee Valley Construction Company
  • $21.2 million– Local centralized control and operation of the six movable bridges from Ruby Street to Brandon Road in the City of Joliet in Will County.
    • Awarded to Meade
  • $14.7 million– Widening, resurfacing and traffic signal modernization in the Village of Lindenhurst in Lake County.
    • Awarded to Berger Excavating
  • $12.5 million– Reconstruct IL-71 to 4 lanes with a 22′ median from IL-47 to IL-126 (1.7 miles) includes replacement of all drainage structures, installation of traffic signals and relocation of water main and sanitary sewer in Kendall County.
    • Awarded to D Construction
  • $11.9 million– Resurfacing, electrical and construction of retaining walls on I-90 in Cook County
    • Awarded to Kenny Construction
  • $10 million – Construction of noise walls, installation of signing, grading and drainage improvements along I90 from Cumberland Avenue to Harlem Avenue in Cook County.
    • Awarded to Herlihy Mid-Continent
  • $7.7 million – Resurfacing and pedestrian improvements on IL-23 in the City of Marengo in Lake County.
    • Awarded to Peter Baker & Son
  • $5.7 million – 3P resurfacing and pedestrian ramps on LaGrange Road through the City of Countryside and the Villages of Willow Springs, Justice, Hodgkins, LaGrange and LaGrange Park in Cook County.
    • Awarded to K-Five Construction
  • $5.7 million – HMA resurfacing on IL 251 from the Winnebago county line to 0.3 mile north of Flagg Road in Ogle County.
    • Awarded to Rock Road Companies
  • $5.35 million – Remove and replace SN 066-0006 carrying IL 17 over the Edwards River in Mercer County.
    • Awarded to General Constructors
  • $5 million – Convert intersection of US 20 and Harmony Road to a roundabout in McHenry County.
    • Awarded to Berger Excavating
  • $4.8 million – Resurfacing (3P) and milled rumble strip on US 20 through the city of Elgin and villages of Streamwood, Hanover Park and Bartlett in Cook County.
    • Awarded to Arrow Road Construction
  • $4.6 million – 518 miles of 3P milling and resurfacing on IL 23, from south of McKinley Road to north of Richards Road near Streator in LaSalle County.
    • Awarded to Advanced Asphalt
  • $4.4 million -632 miles of resurfacing and pedestrian ramp improvements on IL-132 in Gurnee and Waukegan in Lake County.
    • Awarded to Peter Baker & Son
  • $4.2 million – Resurfacing of IL-38 through the cities of Oakbrook Terrace and Elmhurst, and the Village of Oak Brook in DuPage County
    • Awarded to K-Five Construction
  • $4 million – Resurfacing and pedestrian ramp improvements on Cermak Road in the City of Berwyn and the Town of Cicero in Cook County.
    • Awarded to R.W. Dunteman
  • $3.5 million – Resurfacing on IL-171 within the City of Chicago and Village of Norridge in Cook County.
    • Awarded to J.A. Johnson Paving Company
  • $2.9 million – Resurfacing (3P) with ADA ramp improvements on Roosevelt Road in the villages of Hillside, Westchester, Broadview, Maywood and Forest Park in Cook County
    • Awarded to K-Five Construction
  • $2.9 million – Bridge repair on SN 016-0977, 0980, 0978, and 0982 carrying IL 53 from I-90 to IL-72 in Schaumburg and Rolling Meadows in Cook County.
    • Awarded to Lorig Construction
  • $2.56 million – Resurfacing FAU Route 5771 (18th Avenue) from 17th Street to 46th Street in the City of Rock Island in Rock Island County.
    • Awarded to Valley Construction
  • $2.3 million – Trombone mast arm replacement at various locations in Kane and Cook Counties.
    • Awarded to H & H Electric
  • $2.2 million – Light tower removal and replacement, and installation of new light towers at various locations in McHenry and Cook Counties.
    • Awarded to Hecker and Company
  • $2 million – 51 miles of intermittent resurfacing on I-57, from 0.7 mile north of Iroquois County line to south of the Kankakee River bridge in Kankakee County.
    • Awarded to Gallagher
  • $1.8 million – Bridge repairs on 19 structures on I-90/I-94 in the City of Chicago in Cook County.
    • Awarded to D Construction
  • $1.8 million – Channelization on IL-53, from Long Grove Drive to Middlesax Drive in the Village of Long Grove in Lake County.
    • Awarded to Berger Excavating
  • $1.3 million – Reconstruction of roadway shoulders and slopes along IL-84 from .1 mile north to .1 mile south of Quarry Road in Port Byron in Rock Island County.
    • Awarded to McCarthy Improvement
  • $1.3 million – Replacemnt of I-80/I-94 monotube structure at IL-83 including new traffic signal heads, cable and TCandP in Cook County.
    • Awarded to Hecker and Company

Along with these larger projects, smaller culvert repair, storm sewer replacement, paving and other road improvement jobs were let throughout the State of Illinois.
