“Local 150 Votes” Rally a Massive Success!

More than 700 members and their families packed the Hall on Sunday, March 4th to hear statewide candidates speak the day before early voting began in Illinois. They came together to show Illinois candidates that union families care about creating and protecting jobs for the middle class, and the strong member showing at our rally was an indication that we plan to hold them to their word.

Those statewide candidates who joined us for the rally were Secretary of State Jesse White, Treasurer Michael Frerichs, Comptroller Susana Mendoza, State Senator Kwame Raoul who is running for Attorney General, and candidate for Governor J.B. Pritzker, all endorsed by Local 150. Some of our own Local 150 members who are running for office were also in attendance at the rally. Martin Durkan is running for a second term as Commissioner of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago and Lance Yednock is running for State Representative in the 76th District.

Members and their families left the rally knowing the candidates who will fight to grow and protect work for Local 150.  Shirts, endorsement lists and information on polling locations were available for those in attendance. A live band performed while members and their families enjoyed food and drinks, and staff was available at the event to help members make sure they were registered to vote and knew where to vote on the following day. Local 150 endorsement cards were also provided at the rally for all Illinois districts.
