At an event this afternoon, Local 150 announced its endorsement of gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker in Illinois’ Democratic Primary Election.
“After discussions with all the candidates in the Democratic race, we believe that J.B. Pritzker will be a tireless advocate for the interests of middle-class workers,” said Local 150 President-Business Manager James M. Sweeney. “We are proud to endorse him in what is shaping up to be the most important election cycle in a generation.”
At the labor endorsement event, Pritzker stated his support for prevailing wages and collective bargaining rights while teeing off on Governor Rauner’s attempts to pass local “right to work” laws.
Local 150 remains open to making an endorsement in the Republican Primary if a suitable candidate enters the race. Members will be kept updated on that race as it develops.
