The nomination process concluded with the final May district meeting on May 23, and all current Local 150 officers and Executive Board members were nominated by the membership to return to office.

Nominations will be verified, and all candidates must be in attendance at the July General Membership Meeting. With no contested races for any office, this will mark the third consecutive “white ballot” election for Local 150, where a single ballot will be cast to complete the election.

At District meetings throughout the month, officers and Executive Board members thanked the members in attendance for their support. After nominations closed at the final monthly meeting in District 1, several officers looked ahead to the future. “I love my job,” said Vice President Mike Kresge, “and I can promise you all that I will work hard for all of you.”

Recording-Corresponding Secretary Steven Cisco will return for his 12th term, as the longest-serving officer in Local 150’s history. “This union is like a family,” said Cisco. “I’ve made so many friends over the years, and I make new ones every day. It’s been a pleasure to work for you.”

“Serving as your President-Business Manager has been the honor of my life,” said James M. Sweeney. “I remember walking into the hall as a member with my father, and I never could have imagined where my path would lead. Whether it was enjoying the good times or struggling through the hard times, I will always be proud to have played a role in making members’ lives a little bit easier and a little bit better.”

In the 2013 and 2016 “white ballot” elections, Recording-Corresponding Secretary Cisco cast the single ballot at the July General Membership Meeting.
