This morning, Local 150 President-Business Manager James M. Sweeney made the following statement in support of the Route 53/120 Environmental Impact Study:
“This project is sorely needed to alleviate the devastating congestion in Lake and McHenry Counties. The region’s population has experienced growth for decades and transportation infrastructure simply has not kept up.
Moving forward with a fully-funded Environmental Impact Study will provide the opportunity to examine the potential route and design options for this road, but failing to move forward with this study will condemn local motorists to another generation of gridlock and lost productivity.”
