Construction Building Inspectors are the newest addition to the Local 150 Operating Engineers Union. The role of a construction building inspector is multifaceted and exciting. Inspectors are involved from the very beginning of a job to the absolute end when they sign off the project. Inspectors are entrusted with the responsibility to ensure that all the building material and production are in accordance with the design of the engineers. During the course of an average workday the inspector may perform such tasks as soil, concrete, steel, and asphalt inspections along with many other areas.
Education and technology are key factors in our industry. Inspectors are at the cutting edge of both those fields having over twenty certifications and using state of the art technologies such as ultrasonics, radiography, and ground penetrating radar. At the Local 150 Apprenticeship inspectors are instructed and trained to ensure that proper materials and quality workmanship are being utilized on today’s jobsites for the betterment of everyone.
