The Welfare Fund Board of Trustees approved a Partnership with Gateway Foundation and Recovery Centers of America (RCA) to provide residential substance abuse treatment and all outpatient follow up treatment at absolutely no cost to the patient.

Specifically:

  • All claims will be paid at 100% by the Fund
  • NO patient copay or coinsurance
  • NO patient deductible
  • NO balance billing to the patient

The Gateway Foundation and/or Recovery Centers of America (RCA) are both in the BCBS of Illinois PPO Network.  In addition, both provide the full continuum of care including:

  • Residential/Inpatient treatment
  • Virtual outpatient treatment (including adolescents)
  • Withdrawal management
  • Transitional housing/recovery home
  • Family involvement & support
  • Treatment for co-occurring mental health & substance abuse disorders; including gambling program
  • Medication-assisted treatment
  • Transportation provided to residential treatment
  • 24/7 admissions
  • Alumni programs for continued support & social events; including an alumni app for virtual 12-step facilitation meeting and support

Eligibility Requirements

The only eligibility requirements are that you are an eligible Active or pre-Medicare Member or covered dependent.  Gateway or RCA will coordinate obtaining medical necessity for your treatment through Valenz.
