The Midwest Operating Engineers strives to help our members and their families receive specialty prescription medications at the lowest possible copay. Specialty medications are high-cost prescription medications used to treat complex, chronic conditions like cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis.
Through our partnership with CVS Caremark, members and dependents using eligible specialty medications must enroll in a specialty drug discount program through PrudentRx. This program is part of your prescription drug benefit, and enrollment results in a $0 copay. Failure to enroll your eligible specialty medications will result in a 30% coinsurance that is not reimbursable.
PrudentRx will contact you if your specialty prescription is included in the program. Alternatively, you may contact CVS Specialty Pharmacy and they will direct you to a PrudentRx representative, who will help you through the process. As a reminder, participation is a required part of filling your specialty medications with CVS Caremark, so please be sure to work with the PrudentRx team.
Once your enrollment is complete, you can coordinate your current prescription order and subsequent refills and deliveries with CVS Specialty Pharmacy directly.
