On September 30, 2025, Midwest Operating Engineers Welfare Fund (“the Fund”) was notified of a data security incident involving Conduent Business Services (“Conduent”), a third-party company that works with Blue Cross Blue Shield. Upon notice of this incident, the Fund immediately requested and received the following information.

On approximately January 13, 2025, Conduent discovered that it was the victim of a cyber incident that impacted a limited portion of its network. Conduent immediately secured its network and initiated an investigation with the assistance of third-party forensic experts. The investigation determined that an unauthorized third party had access to Conduent’s environment from October 21, 2024, to January 13, 2025, and obtained some files associated with the Fund.

Given the nature and complexity of the data involved, Conduent has been working diligently with a dedicated review team including internal and external experts to conduct a detailed analysis of the affected files to identify the personal information contained therein.

Conduent is in the process of notifying all impacted whose personal information was contained in the affected files. Conduent will also be providing all impacted employees with complimentary credit monitoring and identity protection services. If you were impacted by this event, you will be receiving a letter shortly with additional details regarding the incident, the response, and the complimentary services. These notification letters are slated to be mailed on or around October 24.

If you have any questions, please contact Member Services at 708-579-6600.

Thank you.
