The Fund Office is developing a systematic Retiree Medical Saving Plan (RMSP) reimbursement process for 2025 for medical and pharmacy related co-pays, coinsurances, and deductibles for Retiree Welfare Plan eligible members and their eligible dependents.
We are actively working on a systematic solution to reimburse members and their dependents for medical and pharmacy copays, coinsurance, and deductibles incurred in 2025.
What’s Covered
Only claims with dates of service on or after January 1, 2025, will be considered. Unfortunately, claims with service dates prior to January 1, 2025, are not eligible under this process.
When Will Reimbursements Be Issued?
- Reimbursements will be issued mid-year in 2026 to allow for any claims adjustments that may occur.
What You Need to Do
- No action is required at this time. We will identify and process qualifying claims automatically and send you one reimbursement payment.
- Once the process has been finalized, you will receive additional information about how to opt-in.
Active Members that Retire During the Plan Year
Only claims with dates of service incurred on or after your Retiree Welfare Plan effective date will be considered. Claims for services received while an active member are not eligible for reimbursement consideration.
We kindly ask that you do not submit reimbursement requests for 2025 services related to medical and pharmacy co-pays, coinsurances, and deductibles for Retiree Welfare eligible members and their dependents.
Please note that you may still submit other eligible RMSP expenses that fall outside of this process using the standard reimbursement procedures.
What can be submitted
You can still submit other eligible RMSP expenses:
- Retiree Welfare Plan premiums
- Tax-qualified long-term care insurance premiums
- Tax-qualified nursing care expenses
- Premiums for another group healthcare plan
- Medicare Part A and/or Part B premiums
- Cataract laser surgery with Toric lenses and/or laser add-on covered under the Retiree Welfare Plan
- Hearing aid expenses covered under the Retiree Welfare Plan when prescribed by a Physician, not including over-the-counter hearing aids
